James Wyatt Crosby lives in Oro Medonte, Ontario, Canada. He works out of a home studio in Horseshoe Valley and spends most of his time recording music, watering flowers, driving around and drinking coffee.
His newest collection of songs titled Here We Are In Heaven comes out October 18, 2019 and is an eclectic mixture of bedroom indie, garage psych and dream pop tunes. JWC uses a unique variety of instruments and textures to create his own brand of melody-driven bedroom pop that holds up after repeated listening. Similar artists include Ariel Pink, Ty Segall and Mac Demarco.
The upcoming release was carefully crafted with the help of friend and longtime collaborator moon:and:6 who worked with the artist to create his debut album Twins released in 2017. Friends and members of Crosby’s live band can also be heard lending their talents on these new tracks as well.
Lead single “Hamburger Highway” mixes analog synth sounds, psych-rock textures and dreamy 70s vocal harmonies to create a quirky dream pop ode to the drive-thru experience. It comes out July 19 on Maisonneuve Music.
